Europe Leads 3-0 in the Transatlantic Professional Go Team Championship
As announced in the first article about the Transatlantic Professional Go Team Championship, the first round was played on April 7. Europe was represented by Mateusz Surma 2p (Poland) while Andy Liu 1p (USA) played for America. The game did not go well for Mateusz from the start, but he managed to play better than his opponent in the overtime, thus scoring the first victory for Europe.
In the second and third rounds Mateusz managed to win against Calvin Sun 1p (USA), and William Shi 1p (Canada) respectively. So, for the moment Europe still has all five players left while America has two players left: Eric Lui 1p (USA) and Ryan Li 1p (Canada).
You can read an interview with Mateusz after the first 2 rounds in an article on the EGF website.
The next one to try to stop Mateusz will be Eric Lui 1p (USA). The fourth game is scheduled for May 5 at 20:00 CEST (14:00 US EDT). As usual, the game will be played on KGS with a live broadcast on Twitch.
