On October 12th, the 4th silk road international city Weiqi tournament finished in Tianshui, Gansu province. Li Xu 6 dan defeated Zhou You 5 dan (qualified for 6 dan after this tournament) and won the championship. Li Jiaqi defeated Pavol and got the 2nd place, Zhou You, Pavol got 3-4 place. Xi’an, Sino-Europe and Tianshui got the 1st to 3rd on the team ranking list.
This time, the organizer invited 13 European players to participate the tournament, including Ilya 1P(RUS), Artem 1P(UKR), Ali 1P(IRS) and Pavol 1P(SVK). Beside, there were also many strong amateur players from Europe.
With more and more strong European Go players getting higher prize in international tournament, we may conclude that European players are stepping on the World Go stage.
