On 8th January, the first round of the 5th World Meijin tournmant finishes in Baoshan, China. Lian Xiao (CHN) defeats Iyama Yuta(JPN) by resign and Lian Xiao enters the final of Meijin tournmant.

In this game, Lian Xiao gains benefit at the lower right corner at the beginning, but Iyama Yuta plays really well and reverses the game after the fight at the lower left corner. Later, Iyama Yuta makes mistakes in the fight at the right side, since then Lian Xiao firmly seizes the advantage and wins the game by resign. The game record with  brief commentaries is here.

Iyama Yuta 9P will play against Lee Sedol 9P on 9th January, the winner will play against Lian Xiao on 10th January.
